Capstone Project
A Capstone Project is a comprehensive, final assignment that Master students complete at the end of their program. It is designed to encapsulate the knowledge and skills they have acquired throughout their studies. Unlike traditional exams, a Capstone Project requires students to apply what they've learned to a real-world problem or challenge in their field.
Key Features of a Capstone Project:
- Practical Application: The project typically involves solving a practical business problem, conducting research, or developing a strategic plan for a real or simulated organization.
- Integration of Knowledge: Students must integrate and apply concepts from multiple courses, demonstrating their ability to synthesize information and use it effectively in a professional context.
- Research Component: Often, a Capstone Project includes a significant research element, requiring students to gather, analyze, and interpret data to support their conclusions and recommendations.
- Collaboration: Some Capstone Projects are completed in teams, simulating the collaborative nature of real business environments. Others may be individual projects, allowing for a deep dive into a specific area of interest.
- Presentation and Defense: Upon completion, students typically present their project to a panel of faculty members or industry professionals, and defend their methodology, findings, and recommendations.
Benefits of a Capstone Project:
- Real-World Experience: Students gain hands-on experience by working on actual business problems or scenarios.
- Skill Development: The project hones critical thinking, problem-solving, research, and communication skills.
- Portfolio Piece: The completed project can serve as a showcase of the student's capabilities, useful for job interviews or career advancement.
- Networking: Projects often involve collaboration with industry professionals, providing valuable networking opportunities.
In essence, a Capstone Project is the culmination of an MBA program, allowing students to demonstrate their expertise and readiness for professional challenges.

2. Guidance on Applied Assignments
The Psychology program of PsySchool from SIMI is an accredited program with exceptionally stringent standards. To help students understand these standards and develop their approach to assignments, local tutors will provide support in this process.
Please note that tutors are there to assist, but students are responsible for completing their own work and are accountable for their results.
3. English support for non-native speakers
All PsySchool programs of SIMI are delivered in English, and SIMI recognizes that language is not the key determinant of success in an educational program—it’s simply a medium for instructors to share knowledge.
To help students confidently navigate any challenges with English, particularly the specialized language of Psychology courses, the local academic support team provides assistance through various activities.
Key lectures from SIMI instructors are translated into the local language with the help of local partners. Additionally, each course features a learning assistant who supports students throughout the program, serving as a bridge between students and instructors to ensure seamless communication and to break down language barriers.
4. Support for APA/Harvard formatting and writing style
At PsySchool and in all SIMI programs, students are required to write their assignments following international standards such as APA or Harvard. For some students, this can be a significant initial challenge.
Understanding this, SIMI Swiss has developed detailed guidelines, and with the support of local partners, students receive in-depth guidance and formatting assistance before submitting their assignments to SIMI Swiss.
Check it out [HERE].
5. Capstone Project supervisors
The Capstone Project is the most critical assignment, as it not only evaluates the comprehensive knowledge students have gained across all courses but also tests their ability to apply this knowledge in real-world scenarios.
To facilitate a smooth Capstone Project process, SIMI Swiss has created detailed guidelines and works closely with local partners to offer support.
Based on the country and region, students may be assigned a supervising lecturer to guide them throughout the Capstone Project implementation.

Programs is Mapping with National Occupation Standards
The Master of Psychology program at Swiss PsySchool aligns with the Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) Occupation Standards.
This occupation is designed to improve access to mental health and wellbeing services that are informed by psychological expertise. Clinical Associates in Psychology fill the skills gap between assistant psychologists and Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) registered practitioner psychologists. They work autonomously within their scope of practice under the supervision of an HCPC-registered practitioner psychologist. The term ‘patient’ here includes service users, clients, or anyone receiving psychological support and interventions.
The primary goal of this role is to provide high-quality, evidence-based psychological interventions. Clinical Associates in Psychology employ specialized psychological assessment tools to assist individuals across diverse age groups, backgrounds, and beliefs. While they serve specific populations with a more focused range of activities compared to HCPC-registered psychologists, they play a critical role in delivering tailored psychological care.
